Micropipette Puller
Equipment Introduction
The P-2000 micropipette puller represents a significant advance in the technology of fabrication of micropipettes, optical fiber probes, and nanospray tips with a CO2 laser-based heat source. The P-2000/G is designed to produce even heating on glass up to 1.2 mm in outside diameter. Larger diameter glass can be used with the P-2000/G (up to 1.5 mm quartz and 1.8 mm conventional glass), but the performance is best with glass that is 1.2 mm diameter or less.
Specification
Compatibility | Capable of pulling quartz, borosilicate and aluminosilicate glass. |
Programs | Fully programmable - including heating filament characteristics. |
Lasers | CO2 laser-based heat source. The laser has no melting point limit as with conventional metal filaments; and therefore, cannot be burned out. |
Tip diameters | Pulls electrodes with tip diameters smaller than 0.03µm. |
Electrodes diameters | It is suitable for electrodes with diameters greater than 0.6 mm. |
Quality control | EM detects electrode tip changes of less than 0.1 μm. |
Temperature of the laser heating zone | The temperature of the laser heating zone should be greater than 2200 °C, and the pulling temperature is not limited. |
